Coding Competitions For Kids in 2022
Here is the list of coding competitions for kids in the year 2022.
1. American Computer Science League Contest
ACSL, or the American Computer Science League, is an international computer science competition among more than 300 schools. Originally founded in 1978 as the Rhode Island Computer Science League, it then became the New England Computer Science League. With countrywide and worldwide participants, it became the American Computer Science League. It has been in continuous existence since 1978. Each yearly competition consists of four contests. All students at each school may compete but the team score is the sum of the best 3 or 5 top scores. Each contest consists of two parts: a written section (called “shorts”) and a programming section. Written topics tested include “what does this program do?”


Contest #1: available Nov. 1, 2021; closes Sunday January 16, 2022 @ 11:59pm EST
Contest #2: available Dec. 27, 2021; closes Sunday March 6, 2022 @ 11:59pm EST
Contest #3: available Jan. 31, 2022; closes Sunday April 10, 2022 @ 11:59pm EDT
Contest #4: available March 7, 2022; closes Sunday May 15, 2022 @ 11:59pm EDT
Based on the scores during the regular season, top students in all divisions will be invited to participate in an online Finals competition:
Invitations E-mailed: May 1, 2022 through May 16, 2022
Invitational Finals: Saturday, May 28, 2022 (Memorial Day weekend in the United States)
There is a $25 per-student registration fee to participate in the Finals.

2. International Kids Coding Competition (IKCC)
At the initiative of NGO “Asociatia SASORYCODE” (non-governmental and non-profit organization) and with exceptional support of many partners and software companies, IKCC conducts contests to support children who love the world of programming and computers. IKCC is the starting point for these wonderful, passionate and inventive children.
All IKCC contests are FREE ! No fees/payment required to participate !

3. CodeCup Spaghetti
CodeCup is a cyber security challenge originally designed for students attending our CodeDay events, but now available to the public. During CodeCup teams of students attempt to earn points by writing code, hacking demonstration websites, attacking and defending virtual machines.

4. National Coding Olympiad
National Coding Olympiad (NCO) gives students a unique opportunity to test their coding skills at the national level and prepare for prestigious international coding competitions including the IOI (International Olympiad in Informatics).


Date of competition: January 15, 2022
Age Group: Grade 9 – 12
Competition format: You will get 20 problems to solve in 3 hours using either C, C++, Java, or Python.
Each problem statement will have points associated with it.
Points increase as problems get more difficult.
The leaderboard will be updated in real-time and the student with the highest point will be the winner.
